Gurugram, January 24: A total of six people have lost their lives in a building collapse in Gurugram. All the six bodies have been recovered during rescue operations. Meanwhile, rescue operations are still underway. Earlier in the day, the four-storey under-construction building collapsed in Haryana's Gurugram. There were reports of 20 people being trapped inside the building. Three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) immediately rushed to the spot after the collapse.
The incident occurred in Ullawas village. Certain people from the scene said that the building collapsed even as the workers were working on the construction of the building. In the last few months, several incidents of under construction buildings collapsing have been reported from the Delhi-NCR region.
"The building belongs to a person named Dayaram. Around 20 people, mostly security guards employed and deployed in the nearby sectors were living there on rent," a senior police officer told IANS. The building was almost complete except for some portion on the fourth floor.
